Fibre Optic Install And Repair

As with any decent fibre optic installer, we use high quality fusion splicers to splice factory produced polished terminations with either LC, ST, SC, FC, MT-RJ or E2000 presentation. Fibre can be external, underground or internal from cabinet to cabinet. All terminations are FLUKE tested and a PDF test document is provided with every length of terminated fibre.

Normally its used for long runs where its not practical or possible to use ethernet cable. However its also used to reduce cabling between two or more points. A typical external scenario would be joining two or more company buildings together to reduce large amounts of unsightly ethernet cable. A typical internal example would be connecting multiple floors of a building together rather than running large amounts of ethernet cable between floors. In both case’s this saves money on expensive copper ethernet,CAT5, CAT6 or CAT7 and of course the expense of labor, as only one cable is pulled instead of 10′s or 100′s of CAT5 cables.

Using the latest technology we can easily trace faults to within a couple of meters. Once the fault is found, whether it’s a broken or fractured core, a run of cable can be cut and repaired there and then. This reduces the cost of replacing a whole run of fibre and reduces downtime.
